Volunteer opportunity description

We have an immediate opportunity for an enthusiastic, articulate person to  research, identify, and petition funding agencies for our various programs.  Applicants will work with the Executive Director to research foundations and corporations that may be interested in supporting IEi's community programs.

This is an exciting opportunity to take on the management of a grant proposal, the report content and the application submission process. An ideal position for someone with grant writing experience looking to volunteer their skills to make a huge difference in the lives of the Englewood youth and community at large.

Imagine Englewood if... is dedicated to the residents, its youth and their parents.  We provide workshops to support parents, classes in journalism and other media, leadership projects, lead awareness initiatives, field trips for youth, community gardening projects and reuse art to name a few.



Volunteer applicants must have excellent research, writing and computer skills, outstanding communicative ability, and a pro-active attitude.  

Applicant should posses the ability to work independently, remain flexible and take initiative in a resource-limited environment. This is an open-ended position with the opportunity for future involvement in ongoing projects.

Reliable and articulate are a must.



Researching prospective foundations and corporate donors.
Assisting in writing concept papers, grants and reports to foundations and corporations
Managing the grant proposal timeline to ensure timely submission of requests.
Assisting in the completion of written communication to donors and maintaining ongoing communication with supporters
Maintaining a filing system for grants.
Provide ongoing general support for the Executive Director with regards to grants.

Skills / Qualifications / Experience
Highly organized individual with an aptitude for working in a start-up environment. This means being able to take on multiple projects, work independently, manage your time to meet deadlines, and happily tackle work that ranges from high-level responsibilities to tedious tasks.
Strong research and writing skills are a must.
