Volunteer opportunity description


The ICA Summer Internship Program: Accelerate 77 is an opportunity for undergrad and graduate students and volunteers to participate in preparations for the September 15th share fair that will highlight, connect and accelerate local green initiatives. Summer interns will have the option of involvement in one of the three work arenas:  Community Engagement, Communications and Promotion and Event Design and Implementation.

The program will be seven weeks in length, beginning June 18th and ending August 3rd. Participants will have the option of participating in the entire seven-week program or alternatively choosing a three (June 18-July 6) or four-week (July 9-August 3) cycle. The time commitment is a minimum of twenty hours per week.

Persons volunteering for this work need to have the following qualifications:


  •   Strong research and writing skills

  •   Motivated self-starter with ability to work both independently and with a team

  •   Facility with basic computer software (e.g., Word, Excel)

  •   Excellent interpersonal and phone skills

  •   Strong interest in community-based initiatives, sustainability and/or national/international affairs
