Donors Forum is an organization that promotes philanthropy and supports nonprofits.  Founded in 1974, we are supported by leading foundations and nonprofits in Illinois.  Donors Forum offers a host of services – workshops, newsletters, publications, a website, a library, free databases for researching donors, advocacy activities, and much more  – for organizations that raise money as well as organizations that grant money.

Independent sector's mission is to promote, strengthen, and advance the nonprofit and philanthropic community to foster private initiative for the public good. Independent Sector has very good data on volunteer trends and effective policies for nonprofits.

Charity Navigator, America's largest independent charity evaluator, provides free financial evaluations of America's charities.

Guidestar
Donors, grantmakers, and businesses can all benefit from GuideStar's nonprofit reports. Search our database of more than 1.8 million IRS-recognized. We gather and publicize information about nonprofit organizations.

Corporation for National and Community Service Resource Center
The Resource Center, administered by ETR Associates, is the knowledge management training and technical assistance provider to the Corporation for National and Community Service. It connects service programs with targeted training and information.

Axelson Gateway
The purpose of the Greater Chicago Nonprofit Gateway is to provide easily accessible nonprofit resource information for nonprofit practitioners, educators, students, board members, donors, volunteers, management assistance providers and consultants and others interested in the local nonprofit community through the use of on-line technologies, to provide linkages to learning opportunities and local nonprofit events, and to help facilitate communication across the local nonprofit community.

Points of Light Foundation:
Points of Light Foundation (POLF) has gained a national reputation as America's Address for Volunteering. POLF is an excellent resource for the volunteer, nonprofit, or volunteer manager and if they cannot answer your questions, they will refer you to a helpful resource.

Nonprofit Good Practice Guide
Nonprofit leaders can access hands-on tips, articles and profiled links and apply them to their organizations. In 2010, the site was redesigned with interactive features. Visitors to NPGoodpractice.org come from all 50 states and over 140 countries.

Founded in 1956, the Center is the nation's leading authority on philanthropy and is dedicated to serving grantseekers, grantmakers, researchers, policymakers, the media, and the general public. This is an excellent resource for nonprofits seeking grants.
