Volunteers Make a Difference in Douglas Park

One Good Deed Chicago would like to thank the 130+ volunteers from across Chicago who gave their time and energy to make a difference Oct. 22.

For Good Grows: A Day of Service in Douglas Park, City Year corps members led groups of volunteers in projects across the park. Volunteers picked up trash and mulched dozens of trees. Mulching helps trees stay moist and warm in winter.

The event was organized for Make a Difference Day, the nation's largest day of service. Sponsored by USA Weekend, Make a Difference Day draws millions of Americans to concurrent service projects around the nation.

Volunteers from some of One Good Deed Chicago's 32 Success Coaches partners, Chicago Cares, the White Sox Volunteer Corps, Drake University alumni and others took part in the event. They were treated to breakfast, lunch and a One Good Deed Chicago T-shirt.
