One Good Deed Chicago Announces Spring Nonprofit Workshop Series

One Good Deed Chicago will present four events this spring that will offer nonprofit professionals a chance to learn useful information from industry thought leaders, network and recruit volunteers.

On April 9, One Good Deed will host Social Media for Nonprofits in collaboration with Eventbrite. Representatives from Chicago Cares and Simply Social Chicago will lead two workshops: one basic, and one more advanced.  Professional community managers will be available to answer questions one-on-one. Light breakfast will be served. To register, visit http://socialmediafornonprofits0412.eventbrite.com/. Note that this interactive workshop has a very limited number of seats.

On April 18, OGDC will host the Senior Volunteer Fair in collaboration with AARP. Nonprofits are invited to exhibit and recruit volunteers at this fair. To register, visit http://www.eventbrite.com/event/3250174359. Seniors interested in attending the fair can sign up by visiting seniorvolunteerfair.eventbrite.com.

On May 2, OGDC will host a panel discussion about done-in-a-day service projects. To register, visit http://done-in-a-day.eventbrite.com/. Panelists will be announced closer to event date.

On May 30, a panel discussion about using skills-based volunteers will take place at the Chicago Cultural Center. Skills-based volunteers can help your organization with everything from graphic design to legal services. To register to attend this valuable discussion, visit http://skills-based-volunteers.eventbrite.com/.  Panelists will include representatives from Executive Service Corps and Taproot.

We are a not-for-profit whose mission is education for adults, Latino and African-American in the Pilsen, North and South Lawndale areas of Chicago.

We are looking for volunteers, preferably older adults. We also plan to hire some of these volunteers, after a period of 3 months. We want to make sure that the people we hire are open to not only help others but that they themselves want to learn and acquire more knowledge that will help them to have a better quality of life.
